In a strange way, a duet between Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson seems perfect. Not only are the two friends, but both of them are sort of wacky characters in Hollywood. According to MTV, Manson and Depp teamed up to cover Carly Simon?s 1972 hit ?You?re So Vain? for Manson?s upcoming album Born Villain.
This isn?t the first time that Depp and Manson join forces; in 2001, the two hooked up on ?The Nobodies? for Depp?s Jack the Ripper movie From Hell.
Mason told MTV that he and Depp wanted to collaborate on a cover song that they both found ironic for each other. On the track, you?ll hear Depp on drums and lead guitar, and Manson on guitar and vocals. Manson also suggested that the music video for the track will be ?us looking at each other in a mirror.?
Born Villain will be Manson?s eight studio release, and first album due for his independent label Hell, etc. Last year he also collaborated with actor (and full-time narcissist) Shia LaBeouf on a six and a half minute promo for the record. Born Villain is set to be released on May 1.
What do you think of this collaboration? Are you excited for it?
