Wednesday afternoon, bridal gown designer Priscilla of Boston announced they would be closing all of their stores and ending their business after 65 years. The news sent shock waves throughout the wedding world as brides across the country scrambled to figure out what was going on with their dress. (You can find answers here.)
Tons of famous brides have donned Priscilla dresses throughout the years, so we thought we'd take a moment to look back at some of the best.
from top left:
Actress Beverly Mitchell of the hit show, 7th Heaven, donned the strapless Michaela gown by Melissa Sweet for her 2008 wedding to Michael Cameron.
Tricia Nixon, and former President Richard Nixon, as he walked her through the White House's Rose Garden (it's the only Rose Garden wedding to date) for her wedding to Edward Finch Cox. She appeared not once, but twice on the cover of Life magazine in a dress designed by Priscilla Kidder herself.
Country music superstar Miranda Lambert wore her mother's dress for the ceremony, but then slipped into this short reception dress, a custom design by Mark Brower, for her wedding to country crooner Blake Shelton. Her bridesmaids also wore custom designs by Mark Brower.
At just nineteen years old Luci Baines Johnson, daughter of President LBJ, married Patrick Nugent in 1966 at an elaborate wedding (just check out the cake photos!).
And finally, Nixon's other daughter, Julie Nixon married Dwight David Eisenhower II (President Ike's grandson) in the Grand Ballroom at The Plaza.
