Survivor South Pacific Premier Preview

Tonight on CBS at 8pm EDT, we have the 90-minute premier episode of Survivor: South Pacific. Season 24 returns to Samoa for the third time. Also returning for the third time are Ozzy Lusth, the most winning challenge player in Survivor history, and Coach Ben Wade, the Dragon-slayer, the biggest ego in Survivor history. They will lead the two tribes of eight new players each, Savaii and Upolu. Host Jeff Probst also returns for Season 24, as well as some classic twists plus Redemption Island.

Some of the old twists have been revamped for Season 24. For example, each tribe will have a hidden immunity idol located somewhere in their camp area, just as in previous seasons. But this time, instead of clues coming with reward challenges, the clues themselves are hidden, too! This season, Redemption island will also have one change in that all match-ups will be one-on-one competitions.

Among the 16 new players, several have interesting backgrounds. Stacy is a 44-year old mortician. Rick, 51, has tried 14 times to get on the show. Mikayla, 21, is a lingerie football player. Jim, 35, is a medical marijuana salesman. Elise, 27, is a Miss America runner-up. Perhaps the most interesting player of all will be Brandon, who is the 19-year old nephew of Survivor villain, Russell Hantz.

Then, of course, we have the two returning veteran players, Ozzy and Coach. We saw how last season, Russell got booted out early in the game because of his reputation as a villain. Meanwhile, Boston Rob managed to keep a tight control over his tribe, going all the way to the end to win the million dollar grand prize. So how will this season?s veterans fair?

Tune in tonight as the action begins for the premier of Survivor: South Pacific. Season 24 of Survivor returns again to Samoa for another 39 days of suspense and action. Be sure and stop back here for recaps and analysis of each episode.
