Beyonce's Baby, Britney's Betrothal And More: 2012 Predictions

We forecast the year that will be for your favorite stars, in Bigger Than the Sound.

<P>Welcome to 2012, the year that will either bring us <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon" target="_blank">the end of civilization</a> as we know it or perhaps flying cars (finally!) Of course, between those two events, there's also going to be a presidential election, the London Olympics and that last "Twilight" movie (finally x 100!), not to mention a whole lot of activity within the lives of your favorite stars, too: Babies, weddings, honorary doctorates in nanotechnology; <i>this</i> is the year it'll all happen. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:722495.id:1672369" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Which is why, with the new year upon us, I've decided to get my <a href="http://www.amazingkreskin.com/" target="_blank">Kreskin</a> on with these predictions for 2012. Don't ask me to gaze deep into my crystal ball and try to foresee who'll win the White House or the World Series, because, seriously, if I knew that, don't you think I'd be wagering right now? Instead, I'm tackling the <i>important</i> topics. Here's my 2012 forecast for the Beyonc&#233;s and Britneys of the world ... partly cloudy, with a zero-percent chance of accuracy. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyonc&#233;</a> and <a href="/music/artist/jay_z/artist.jhtml">Jay-Z</a> will welcome a daughter, who, upon her, uh, <i>release,</i> will also release her debut single, "Run the World (Me)." &#187; <a href="/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a> will win every single Grammy, including a stunning upset of <i>Eres Un Farsante</i> in the Best Regional Mexican Or Tejano Album category. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> and Jason Trawick will tie the knot in an elaborate, multi-denominational ceremony held &#8212; eh, I don't even care enough to finish this one. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/perry_katy/artist.jhtml">Katy Perry</a>, having finally run out of singles to release off <i>Teenage Dream,</i> will spend the entirety of 2012 shooting videos for objects around her house. Her hits will include "Toaster," "KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer" and "This Towel Set Someone Gave Russell and I for Our Wedding That We Keep in the Guest Bathroom." &#187; <a href="/music/artist/dr_dre/artist.jhtml">Dr. Dre</a> will indefinitely scrap <i>Detox</i> and instead drop a more age-appropriate album called <i>The Chronic Arthritis.</i> &#187; <a href="/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> will wear a crazy hat or something. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a> will release six albums in 2012, each more raunchy than the last. Titles include <i>Speculum,</i> <i>[Censored] [Censored] On My [Censored],</i> and <i>Songs About F---ing,</i> which, oddly, will be a note-for-note remake of Big Black's <i>Songs About F---ing.</i> &#187; Dave Grohl is sure to do something awesome. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/drake/artist.jhtml">Drake</a>'s sweater game will become so advanced that he will surpass Bill Cosby as the world's foremost expert on multi-hued knitwear. On a related note, he will also release a comedy album called <i>To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With.</i> &#187; <a href="/music/artist/minaj__nicki/artist.jhtml">Nicki Minaj</a> will stun the fashionistas when she appears at the annual Met Ball wearing a nice pantsuit she bought at Bealls. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> will finally get that bike without the training wheels, since he's a big boy now. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/black_keys/artist.jhtml">The Black Keys</a>, buoyed by the success of their <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/the-black-keys/706819/lonely-boy.jhtml">"Lonely Boy" video</a>, will shoot another dance-only clip for "Gold on the Ceiling," this one set at Gallagher's 2000 and featuring nothing but topless women. Surprisingly, it will become the most-viewed music video in the history of everything. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> will come full circle, get a tattoo <i>of</i> his face <i>on</i> his face. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/guns_n_roses/artist.jhtml">Guns N' Roses</a> will reunite at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April, only with that dude who plays a guitar shaped like a foot filling in for Slash and Tommy Stinson replacing Duff on bass. So, actually, it won't be Guns N' Roses at all. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/coldplay/artist.jhtml">Coldplay</a>'s Chris Martin is just going to be fingerpainting everything. &#187; <a href="/music/artist/ross__rick__rap_/artist.jhtml">Rick Ross</a> will be named the Memphis Restaurant Association's Restaurateur of the Year for his tremendous achievements in <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/08/05/rick-ross-wingstop">Wingstop-ery.</a> &#187; <a href="/music/artist/west_kanye/artist.jhtml">Kanye West</a> will <i>literally</i> explode. &#187; Fans of <a href="/music/artist/skrillex/artist.jhtml">Skrillex</a> will stop and realize that, in 1997, EDM was poised take over America too, and we ended up with Limp Bizkit as a result.</p>

Are Madonna And Britney Spears Collaborating On MDNA?

Amid rumors that Spears will appear on Madge's 'Girls Gone Wild,' MTV News looks back at their history together.
By Jocelyn Vena

Photo: Jason Merritt/ FilmMagic

<P>Could it be that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/madonna/artist.jhtml">Madonna</a> has enlisted her pal <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> for <a href="/news/articles/1678197/madonna-mdna-album.jhtml"><i>MDNA</i></a>? </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:623135.id:1657989" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Well, according to a leaked album jacket, it seems that Spears is making an appearance on the album's lead track, "Girls Gone Wild." This would mark the second collaboration on the album. Madonna nabbed Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. for the album's first single, <a href="/news/articles/1678478/madonna-give-me-all-your-luvin-video.jhtml">"Give Me All Your Luvin'."</a> While the leaked jacket, which appeared on Britney fansite <a href="http://www.breatheheavy.com/2012/02/britney-on-new-madonna-album/?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">Breatheheavy.com</a>, can't be confirmed as authentic, a rep for Madge had no comment about the rumor, neither confirming nor denying it. Meanwhile, a rep for Spears never returned MTV News' request for comment. This is hardly the first time that the two ladies have worked together. In fact, they have quite a history with each other. The duo kicked off their nearly decade-long friendship at the 2003 VMAs when, in case you hadn't heard, they <a href="/news/articles/1669706/britney-spears-mtv-vma-history.jhtml">shared an onstage kiss</a> while performing together. It was the kiss seen and heard around the world, and nearly 10 years later it is still often talked about as one of the most memorable moments in the show's storied history. After they shared that smooch, Spears was inspired to get the Queen of Pop on her lead <i>In the Zone</i> single, <a href="/news/articles/1658075/britney-spears-me-against-the-music.jhtml">"Me Against the Music."</a> "I was in the middle of rehearsals for the VMAs and I played her the song, and she was like, 'That's your first single, right?' " Britney recalled in a vintage interview with MTV. "I was like, 'Yeah, hopefully.' She was like, 'I really like it.' I was like, 'Really?' I was like, 'Well, you wanna do it with me?' She said, 'Yeah.' " They later appeared together in the warehouse-set video with one another, playing a pop star cat-and-mouse game that featured a near kiss. Five years later, as Spears was prepping her return to the pop spotlight, she appeared <a href="/news/articles/1598804/britney-spears-justin-timberlake-appear-onstage-with-madonna.jhtml">onstage with Madonna</a> during a Sticky &amp; Sweet Tour stop at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The singer hit the stage with the pop icon to perform "Human Nature" by her side. That same year, Madonna appeared in <a href="/news/articles/1600361/britney-spears-talks-breakups-breakdowns-in-for-the-record.jhtml">Spears' documentary, "For the Record,"</a> where she spoke about the younger singer. "I admire her as an artist," the Material Girl said, adding that she sees a lot of herself in Spears. In 2011, as Spears was prepping the release of her album <i>Femme Fatale,</i> in an <a href="/news/articles/1659522/britney-spears-plastic-surgery-out-magazine.jhtml">interview with <i>Out</i> magazine</a>, she noted that she truly admires her friend. "Madonna. No question. She is an amazing entertainer," she said when asked whose career she most would want to emulate. As Madonna preps the release of <i>MDNA</i> in March, Spears is also the topic of conversation in a recent interview with her. When asked by ABC News what it was like to smooch the pop princess, she commented, "Nice moment, good kisser. Cool," she said, clarifying that she wouldn't do it again. "No, I already did it. I don't like to repeat myself." Well, perhaps a kiss would be "reductive" (her word, not ours), but it seems given the love that Madge and Spears fans have for the two pop stars, they wouldn't mind them cooking up some musical magic. The track, "Girls Gone Wild," was teased in a megamix that dropped last week and it certainly feels like it would lend itself to both Madonna and Brit's musical sensibilities: It's fist-pumpingly dance-y, sexy and all about going out and having a good time, with Madge proclaiming, "Girls, they just want to have some fun/ Get fired up like a smoking gun/ On the floor till the daylight comes/ Girls, they just want to have some fun." <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:728690/cp~id%3D1672718%26vid%3D728690%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A728690%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> <i>What would you think of a new Britney Spears/ Madonna collabo? Do We Love Audrina Patridge Just For Her Body?

Yep.

Okay, and because Audrina Patrdige has a hot drunkie MILF of a mom, so it's not as if we're simply focused on her looks, unless you mean how she'd look as she walked in on us with her mom playing Battleshots in the nude (Battleshots, look it up). The former Hills reality star was caught moving from somewhere to somewhere, which isn't nearly as important a the fact that we got to see her lifting and hoisting her personal soda stream machine into her car, which provided some nice views or her stellar body (see above as to the one thing we do love about Audrina).

There's nothing wrong with being a vapid hottie who lives off of camera crews filming the banal details of your daily life and a cranked out editor in a dark room turning those moments into fake drama with riveting music. But, you've got to be hot. Audrina makes the cut. Enjoy.

<P>You kind of can't go wrong when the soundtrack you've put together for one of the most eagerly anticipated literary adaptations in years kicks off <a href="/music/artist/yeah_yeah_yeahs/artist.jhtml">Yeah Yeah Yeahs</a> singer Karen O's take on <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</a>'s "Immigrant Song." </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:693384" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Fans heard the throbbing industrial take on the rock classic cooked up by former Nine Inch Nails mastermind and O when a trailer for the David Fincher-directed "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" leaked back in May. And on Thursday, Oscar-winning industrial-rocker-turned-film composer Reznor and musical partner Atticus Ross unveiled the full track list for their "Tattoo" score album. The follow-up to their award-winning "The Social Network" score was a labor of love, according to a <a href="http://nin.com/?id=102677" target="_blank">post</a> Reznor put up on the NIN site on Thursday announcing the disc. "For the last fourteen months Atticus and I have been hard at work on David Fincher's 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,' " he wrote about the American version of the tale of pierced and punished hacker <a href="/news/articles/1655879/rooney-mara-dragon-tattoo.jhtml">Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara)</a> and her muckraking journalist compatriot <a href="/news/articles/1667542/daniel-craig-rooney-mara-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo.jhtml">Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig)</a>. "We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers. The result is a sprawling three-hour opus." The album will be released on iTunes on December 9 in two versions. Right now, you can download the Karen O song on iTunes when you pre-order the 39-track album. That download purchase will also give you a link to the <a href="/news/articles/1675297/girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo-trailer-extended.jhtml">eight-minute "Dragon Tattoo" trailer</a>, for which Reznor and Ross created a unique score. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:674399" width="240" height="211"></div><p> But, if you visit the <a href="http://www.nullco.com/GDT/usd.php" target="_blank">NIN online store</a>, Reznor is offering the soundtrack in a variety of forms, from a free six-track sampler to a deluxe 3,000-piece limited-edition signed $300 package with your choice of MP3 formats; the full album on six pieces of 180 gram vinyl; a deluxe book package with a metal cover; an exclusive custom 8 GB metal razor blade USB drive pendant containing the full album; and a fold-out poster. The full album score track list is as follows: <br> <b>&#187;</b> "Immigrant Song" (Led Zeppelin cover) [ft. Brittany Snow Changes Her Locks To Red!

spa1_wide.jpg
One of Hollywood?s favorite blondes has taken the plunge and gone red!

Brittany Snow enjoyed some R&R with a spa day on February 19 at the Four Seasons Westlake Village, where she looked drastically different without her trademark blond locks! ?Before, I was so intimidated by the whole fashion world. Now, I embrace it and realize it is part of the territory of being an actress,? Brittany says.

She didn't look too worried about her latest fashion risk. She and a friend were laughing it up over champagne, and an In Touch insider couldn?t help but notice how pleased she looked with her new bright red hair. The starlet did dye her hair brown once in the past, but we're loving this dramatic new look on Brittany!

Lindsay Lohan through the years: the unnatural evolution of her 3.0 face

It?s been clear during Lindsay?s big SNL ?comeback? lead-up (we?ll see) that she had a fresh round of fillers and work done to her face. She looks like a chipmunk, and she?s beginning to resemble Janice from the Muppets with her new ridiculously long wig. Kaiser already mentioned Lindsay?s latest nose job and the fact that everyone is noticing that she has too many fillers in her face. So we sort-of already covered this, but I think it was worth its own post for the photos. Radar also has a bunch of quotes from a plastic surgeon about the obvious work Lindsay?s had done, and it?s hilariously bitchy. Particularly the part about how she looks like a chipmunk and how ?hard living? has affected her looks. Here?s some of Radar?s report:

Lindsay Lohan claims that she has kissed goodbye to her hard partying habits, but the troubled actress looked far from wholesome and natural on Wednesday night, prompting speculation from an expert that she has substituted an alcohol and drug addiction for a plastic surgery addiction.

?Unfortunately it looks like it,? celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated the 25-year-old star, told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

?She appears to have a classic, over-plumped pillow face. Her cheeks look like she?s storing nuts for the winter. I suspect that she?s undergone multiple injections of filler like Sculptra or Restylane,? he explained.

?While these treatments can create a very youthful, natural look, when overdone they can make a person look like a Cabbage Patch Doll.?

It?s not the first time Dr. Youn has commented on the Mean Girls star?s appearance recently. Just last month he voiced concern that she was going overboard with plastic surgery treatments.

?I suspect that hard living combined with some plastic surgery is causing her to look virtually unrecognizable,? he revealed.

?Her lips look plumped and stiff, possibly from injections of Restylane. Her forehead is also excessively smooth, consistent with injections of Botox or Dysport.?

[From Radar]

This is what addiction does to a person, and I?m talking about serious drug addiction, not plastic surgery addiction, although obviously that?s played into this situation. Drugs change someone?s personality and they mess with their appearance. Lindsay?s situation is not as dramatic as ?faces of meth,? but there are parallels here.

Remember, this woman is 25! I had to look it up to remind myself, and I?ve been writing about her for years. Holy crap. She looks like she?s at least 40.

'Project X' And Other Great Movie Parties

by Ryan Rigley

Put on your best outfit and break out the booze. It's time to party! This weekend marks the release of the Todd Phillips produced found footage movie, "Project X" ? and it could very well be the best party movie of all time, what with cars in the pool, midgets in the oven, and thousands of screaming teenagers. Looks like one hell of a good time to us!

There have been an abundance of crazy party scenes throughout movie history. Whether they take place in a college frat house or outer space, these party scenes are memorable mostly because of how flat out awesome it would be to attend them. Here's a list of the top five party scenes that we would love to have been a part of.

 5. "The Matrix Reloaded"
When the Nebuchadnezzar is summoned to the last remaining colony of humans, the Zionists throw on their freshest burlap sacks and get funky in honor of Neo, the chosen one. Really funky. Everyone is sweaty and grinding all up on one another, touching each others' spine holes and what not. Half of them are even carrying torches for some reason. We'd like to see a robot octopus try to party that hard.

 4. "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi"
After defeating Emperor Palpatine and blowing up the Death Star once again, the Rebel Alliance throws down on Endor like they've never thrown down before. Which is a distinct possibility being as the Empire frowns on anything fun. This celebration has practically everything: Ewoks, Wookiees, droids, even Jedi ghosts! Good luck trying to get laid though. Unless you have a thing for tiny little teddy bear aliens.

 3. "Old School"
This was one of the firsts in a very long line of Todd Phillips party movies. Who could forget the insanity that was "Mitch-A-Palooza"? Everyone who's anyone was at that party: Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell and, of course, Snoop Dogg. This party made children want to go to college and adults want to go back to college. Except for the part where Will Ferrell goes streaking by himself. That was pretty weird.

 2. "Can't Hardly Wait"
You know how the parties on the rest of this list are only one scene long? Yeah, this party lasts for practically the entire movie. From the drunk nerd singing Guns N' Roses, to the white rapper having sex with his childhood friend in the bathroom, there's something at this party for everyone! Plus, there's a good chance of winning the girl of your dreams. But only if you write her a really heartfelt love letter first.

 1. "Animal House"
Like you didn't see this one coming. Arguably one of the most memorable party scenes in all of movie history, the Delta Tau Chi house is the reason fraternities all across the country love to wear togas. This movie not only helped turn John Belushi into a party legend, but it also made the "gross-out comedy" genre the success that it is today.

Tell us what you think of "Project X" in the comments section and on Twitter!

The Most Important People on The Internet: Volume 2.11

Welcome to another installment of The Most Important People on the Internet where Jessica Simpson?s manatee-fetus was clearly your last minute muse because there?s at least three comments in here. On that note, I didn?t even know how to choose from this Lil Wayne thread, so I?d be a shitty purveyor of breasts and wiener jokes if I didn?t bring it to your attention.

Serious note, I joke about the midwest, but best of luck to everyone out there who can?t even sit down for a cup of coffee without a tornado punching their house in the dick. So if you?ve got a couple bucks to kick to the Red Cross to help out your fellow Americans, Donate Here.

'The Lorax': The Reviews Are In!

Latest Dr. Seuss adaptation isn't winning over too many critics.

There are few authors whose oeuvre is as universally beloved as that of Dr. Seuss. The love for Dr. Seuss is so great that plenty of his stories are rife for big-screen treatment. We've seen movie versions of "The Cat in the Hat," "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Horton Hears a Who," and now we have "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax," which hit theaters Friday (March 2).

Led by an all-star cast of voice talent including Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, Danny DeVito, Betty White, Ed Helms and Rob Riggle, the story follows the journey of a young boy who fights to reintroduce endangered trees to the plastic-obsessed town of Thneedville in hopes of winning a girl's heart. Despite the warm-and-fuzzy sheen of the film, critics were not as wowed by the colorful adaptation. The film currently has a 56 percent fresh rating at Rotten Tomatoes but an 85 percent positive rating from audiences.

Read on as we sift through "The Lorax" reviews!

The Adaptation
"Director Chris Renaud and writers Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio (the team responsible for 2010's 'Despicable Me') were just the right people to bring Dr. Seuss' (a.k.a. Theodor Geisel) 1971 environmental fable to vivid, eye-popping life. It has a similar blend of humor, bouncy silliness and sweetness. And it remains faithful to the spirit of Seuss. The pro-conservation, anti-consumerist message of the book is heartily intact. And, like the Seuss story, the film never resorts to sermonizing. ... Disappointingly, Seuss' trademark lilting language and clever rhymes are only sporadically integrated into the story. The film does add pleasantly loopy, if rather forgettable, songs." — Claudia Puig, USA Today

The Animation
"As with 'Horton Hears a Who!' four years ago, the production design and computer-generated animation in this new 'Lorax' respect the basic lines of Theodor Seuss Geisel's illustrations, his voluptuously curvy universe of serious whimsy. Both the 'Horton' and 'Lorax' films work better, certainly, than the live-action Seuss pictures 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and the seriously not-good 'Cat in the Hat.' 'The Lorax' is a little more like it. A little. But you couldn't accuse the film of practicing what it preaches: careful stewardship of a precious resource. The message tends to get lost in all the clanging slapstick and 'WALL-E' imagery. 'WALL-E' had the courage of its convictions as well as beauty and artistry; 'The Lorax' is just another OK feature-length animated edition (in 3-D, if you choose to pay for it) of a Dr. Seuss book." — Michael Phillips, The Chicago Tribune

The Final Word, Pro-Con-Pro Style
"Directors Chris Renaud and Kyle Balda and their team honor Seuss' original designs — those fuzzy-top trees and the comical bears and fish — while inventively creating the artificial world of Thneedville, where all the shrubbery is inflatable and it can be all four seasons simultaneously. While the film isn't a full-on musical, the creators weave in a handful of catchy songs that nestle comfortably in the ear and push the plot forward, a rare combo in most cartoons these days. The voice cast is just fine, with Helms' Once-ler traveling smoothly from protagonist to antagonist and back again. (A little of DeVito's hectoring Lorax goes a long way, and the film wisely doles him out in small doses.) Conservative commentators like Lou Dobbs are absolutely right when they say that 'The Lorax' preaches in favor of the environment and against corporatism and waste and the destruction of the atmosphere. Parents who find that to be a message that's somehow dangerous have every right not to go, but those Grinches, out of their terror of tree-hugging propaganda, will miss a real treat." — Alonso Duralde, TheWrap

"Don't be fooled. Despite its soft environmentalist message 'The Lorax' is an example of what it pretends to oppose. Its relationship to Dr. Seuss' book is precisely that of the synthetic trees that line the streets of Thneedville to the organic Truffulas they have displaced. The movie is a noisy, useless piece of junk, reverse-engineered into something resembling popular art in accordance with the reigning imperatives of marketing and brand extension. ... 'The Lorax,' while it nods in the direction of Dr. Seuss' distinctive, trippy drawing style, treats his sensibility as, at best, a decorative element. The movie's silliness, like its preachiness, is loud and slightly hysterical, as if young viewers could be entertained only by a ceaseless barrage of sensory stimulus and pop-culture attitude, or instructed by songs that make the collected works of Up With People sound like Metallica. The simple fable of the Lorax and the Once-ler is wrapped in gaudy, familiar business and festooned with grim, forced cheer. What do the kids want? Car chases! Kooky grandmas! Pint-size villains flanked by thuggish minions! Things that fly! Taylor Swift!" — A.O. Scott, The New York Times

"As much as this looks like Dr. Seuss, some of the most intriguing ideas of the original story have been changed and not always for the better. Altering the ending into one big happy party was slightly disappointing, if understandable. It was much more interesting that this strange creature would tell his story to a curious young boy and hope that this child would be able to plant the very last truffula tree seed. Not surprisingly, the movie changes that ambiguous hope into a happy-heavy ending. Sure it may be more child friendly, but the books weren't exclusively made for grown-ups. If done right, young viewers would be able to search for hope with a less obvious finale. Yet with all the over-the-top joyfulness and an extraneous villain, there is fun to be had with 'Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.' This is an enjoyable kid's flick with a message for a new generation. The environmental aspect might anger a few people but that same idea is in the book itself, there is nothing new about that here. Much like Bob Holt's take on him, I really warmed up to the character of the Lorax and what DeVito brings to this little critter that speaks for the trees. And yes, Betty White voices another wacky grandma, and everybody loves her, right?" — Jimmy O, JoBlo.com

Kaley Cuoco Ends Her Engagement

Oh, this is too bad! Kaley Cuoco, who was engaged to Josh ?Lazie? Resnik after a ?surprise proposal,? has called off her engagement.

The news came out during an interview, when Kaley said ?I?m not engaged anymore? but did not offer further explanation.

Well, sometimes things just don?t work out. I think it?s better to come to these realizations before getting married rather than afterwards, right?

Michael Jackson Doctor Can't Afford Lawyer For Appeal

Conrad Murray asks judge for a court-appointed attorney to appeal his involuntary manslaughter conviction.

<P>Just weeks after being sent to jail for <a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">four years</a> following a conviction on a felony involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml" target="_blank">Michael Jackson</a>, cardiologist Conrad Murray is throwing himself on the mercy of the court. The doctor had been slated to earn up to $150,000 a month to act as Jackson's personal physician before the pop icon's death in June 2009 from an overdose of the Murray-administered surgical anesthetic propofol. But on Tuesday <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/conrad_murray_in_shackles_asks/280479" target="_blank"><I>E! News</I></a> reported that Murray filed a <a href="/news/articles/1675343/conrad-murray-conviction-appeal.jhtml">notice of appeal</a> in Los Angeles Superior Court in which he claimed that he is "indigent and respectfully requests the appointment of counsel on appeal." Murray, 58, is planning to appeal both his conviction and his sentence, but has not yet filed papers with the California Appeals Court. He had hired two lawyers to handle his manslaughter case, but is now seeking attorneys with appeal experience. One of those former lawyers, J. Michael Flanagan, told E! that he was shocked at how his client is being treated in jail. "It is crazy and unbelievable how [the sheriffs] are treating" Murray in jail, said Flanagan, who claimed he waited over an hour to see Murray, who was brought out in handcuffs and leg chains. Flanagan was further shocked to see Murray handcuffed to the table for their meeting, something the lawyer said he'd never seen before in the case of a low-level, non-violent offender. Charles Peckham, who is handling civil cases against Murray, told the <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/doctor-convicted-in-michael-jacksons-death-seeking-court-paid-attorney-for-appeal/2011/12/13/gIQAHIYGsO_story.html" target="_blank"><I>Associated Press</I></a> that his client is under tight security and isolation that is more intense than other inmates at the Los Angeles Men's Central Jail. "Treating him like Hannibal Lecter is offensive," said Peckham. "This man who saved lives made a mistake, and they're going to [make] him pay like a mass-murderer." Sheriff's officials defended the tight security, saying it was for Murray's safety.</p>

Whitney Houston And Michael Jackson's Deaths: Gone Too Soon

'You will always remember where you were ... when you heard the news,' Simon Cowell says, echoing the sentiments after Jackson's death.

<P>Few people will forget where they were when they heard that the King of Pop, <a href="/news/articles/1614744/michael-jackson-dies-at-50.jhtml">Michael Jackson, had died</a> in June 2009. And now, the same can be said for 1980s and '90s <a href="/news/articles/1679029/whitney-houston-dead.jhtml">Queen of Pop Whitney Houston</a>. </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:733106.id:1679030" width="240" height="211"></div><p> The beloved, long-suffering singer died Saturday inside a Beverly Hills hotel room, hours before she was expected to attend a <a href="/news/articles/1679046/whitney-houston-dies-grammys-clive-davis.jhtml">pre-Grammy Awards party thrown by her longtime mentor Clive Davis</a>. And while the official cause of death is yet unknown &#8212; what's been speculated so far is that <a href="/news/articles/1679049/whitney-houston-dies-details.jhtml">Houston may have drowned</a> in the bathtub after taking prescription drugs, including Xanax &#8212; given her very public struggle with substance abuse, depression and anxiety over the past decade, it's hard not to conclude that some drug- or alcohol-related accident may have been to blame. It's much like, most recently, British singer Amy Winehouse and the late, great Michael Jackson before her, who died after taking a fatal cocktail of propofol and two other drugs. Also like Jackson, Houston's sudden death &#8212; at the age of 48 &#8212; has stopped the world in its tracks, an enormous, one-of-a-kind musical flame forever extinguished. Even Jackson's brother, Jermaine &#8212; who was first introduced to Houston years ago by Clive Davis at the same Beverly Hills Hilton where the singer passed away &#8212; could not help but draw the comparison. In an interview with CNN overnight, he paid tribute to the two fallen musical giants. "They shared a lot of success in the late '80s and they were great friends," he said. "I'm happy and honored to have been a part of their lives." And oh, what lives they led: Like Jackson &#8212; who died at just 50 years old, after years of struggling with personal demons &#8212; Houston, too, had an intensely profound and everlasting impact on the world of entertainment. Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson and countless other chart-topping entertainers have all name-checked her as their musical mentor, icon and inspiration: To date, she is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with more than 170 million albums, songs and videos sold. In her lifetime, Houston achieved what precious few of them have or ever will &#8212; stacking an astonishing 415 awards, including six Grammys, two Emmys, 22 American Music Awards, 30 <i>Billboard</i> Awards. Her voice, in its prime, was a national treasure. "X Factor" mastermind Simon Cowell may have summed it up the best: On "Piers Morgan Tonight," he said, "She was one of the greatest voices in our lifetime. Whitney was the number one singer that other singers want to emulate. People like that can't be manufactured. They've either got, it or they don't." He added, "You will always remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news." Like Michael before her, gone too soon. <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:733107/cp~id%3D1679030%26vid%3D733107%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A733107%26instance%3Dmtv" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="." flashVars=""></embed></center> <b>MTV News' Sway and James Montgomery will be live from the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys/">Grammys</a> red carpet tonight starting at 5 p.m. ET to get reactions from music's biggest stars on the death of Whitney Houston. Rihanna is sort of a bitch

rihanna_abuse1-1

This kinda got lost in all the Academy Award stuff but it shouldn?t have because on Friday, one of Rihannas fans was thinking about the time when Chris Brown turned to Rihanna and:

??punched her in the left eye with his right hand (and) continued to punch her in the face? The assault caused her mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter over her clothing and the interior of the vehicle.?

So the fan went on twitter and posted this:

?I gotta admit, I lost a lot of respect for @rihanna.. Makin a song w/ the dude that beat your face off is not a good look.?

Despite the fact that she has over 14 million followers, Rihanna actually saw that tweet and tried to explain why she?s forgiven Chris Brown.

?neither is your avi #clapback?

Oh wait no. I guess she didn?t try to explain. I guess she just saw the girls twitter picture and called her fat. And a ?cyber bully?. So, whatever. Go Rihanna, be an idiot. Go date Chris Brown again, and then get your ass beat again. I bet the sunglasses salesman in your mall can?t wait.
