Fiona Apple Announces A US Concert Tour

Yay!!!

Last month we learned the EXCITING news that singer Fiona Apple will be releasing a new album later this year and earlier this month we learned that she will be performing at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX next month. Today we learn even MORE exciting news ? after her gig at SxSW, Fiona will be hitting the road on a new US tour! For the first time in EONS, Fiona Apple will be performing LIVE in concert on tour! Fiona Apple has scheduled her first U.S. tour in five years. The seven-date jaunts kicks off at South by Southwest on March 15th, and then hits Chicago before ending with five dates along the East coast. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 24th.

Apple is expected to release her first album in seven years sometime in 2012. In the meantime, check out her legendary video for ?Criminal?, which is also below.

I realize this list of tour dates is short ? so I?m hoping this is just the first round of dates. That said, it?s possible that Fiona is going to ease herself back into touring so this might be it for this tour. LA is lucky because Fiona has played a few small shows around town in recent years so I guess we can?t be greedy (I got to see one of these small performances last year). I guess we?ll have to wait and see. Maybe after she releases her new album, she will tour more extensively. This is all very exciting. It really feels like Fiona is serious about this comeback this time around. She?s been away for far too long ? it?ll be great to have her back on the performance stage.
