The Hart of Dixie debuted its second episode tonight. Aptly titled ?Parades & Pariahs?, Rachel Bilson?s Zoe Hart tries to fit in, but is still the talk of the town. Get our recap below.
The CW kicked off it?s second episode of the series that follows Rachel Bilson as Doctor Zoe Hart, a city girl who is trying to make it in her new home, Bluebell. During tonight?s episode, Zoe decides the only way she might be accepted is to join in on the town?s annual Founder?s Day Parade after Mayor Lavon Hayes coaxes her into creating and riding on his float.
Her decision comes after she is still the talk of the town with her short shorts and terrible bed side manner. Harley?s long lost daughter or not, the Breeland family is still out to get her, with her only saving grace, her friendship with Lavon. Unfortunately getting along with the Mayor may help her with some of the older citizens of Bluebell, but Lemon is jealous and awkward about the whole thing.
Although show runners aren?t letting us in just yet on the Lemon/Lavon love affair, there?s obviously a story there since Lemon?s body language and face says it all. George is also picking up on his fiance?s jealousy. To make maters worse, Zoe jumps the gun in the beginning of the hour by diagnosing a patient with paralysis, only to discover that it was a tick.
With Doctor Breeland present, the entire town makes fun of Zoe throughout the episode, for her over the top doctor drama. She does however, discover Lemon?s determined friend on the bathroom floor, who has collapsed, but swears Zoe to secrecy about her MS. In order to be part of the parade Lemon?s friend decides to take several pills Zoe gives her, even after she is told to take one because its extremely potent. In order to keep the few people she has in Bluebell on her side, and not betray her new patient, Zoe crashes Lavon?s float as a distraction. This doesn?t exactly help Zoe win over Lemon Breeland, but she manages to maintain the girl?s trust.
All in all, this latest Hart of Dixie episode was funny and entertaining. Now that Zoe must find a way to bring in at least 30% of the revenue in order to secure her partnership, things seem to be heating up!
